Research Interests
Her primary research interests include transformations in gender order,
the politics of emotion, masculinities, and the theorization of peace feminism.
Her recent research, in particular, critically examines how, beyond gender essentialism in peace discourse,
women's participation in the security and military sectors comes to be articulated as gender equality,
and how the incorporation of human rights and humanitarian sensibilities into security
and military practices brings feminist language and values to the fore, in a complex process
that simultaneously undermines feminism.
Through this analysis, she explores how gender and sexuality norms shape peace discourse.
